Mountain Bike Beginner Mentorship Program

New to mountain biking? Join Indigenous Women Outdoors for our Beginner Mountain Bike Mentorship program.

This year, Indigenous Women Outdoors is offering a beginner Mountain Bike Mentorship Program featuring three clinic days at Whistler Bike Park. Whether you have tried mountain biking in the past, or this is your first time, this mentorship will help you level up your skills, gather in community, and grow alongside friends.

Instruction will be provided by IWO’s own, Sandy Ward, with rentals and bike park tickets included.

  • Cost:
    • Free for host nations
    • $100 total for Indigenous peoples from non-host nations
  • Includes:
    • Bike park pass
    • Rentals (helmet, bike, and protective equipment)
    • Aprés
    • Guided instruction

Executive Director

Aiyana Anderson-MacIsaac is the Executive Director at Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO). She began her journey with the organization in 2020 as a participant in IWO’s first-ever program, the Introduction to Backcountry Mentorship Program. She then joined the Board of Directors as a Board Secretary in 2022 and served until April 2025. In 2024, Aiyana created and led the Off-Piste and Introduction to Backcountry Safety program as a Program Lead.
