Sandy is one of the founding members of Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO) and has a long history of creating programs for Indigenous women and youth in the Sea2Sky region of BC. She helped in starting the IWO backcountry program and has been running that for the last 5 years. Sandy also organizes the Lil’wat Ka-xléq-a and Qwíxwla7 youth mountain bike and snow programs where she brings youth into the mountains while incorporating Lil’wat teachings into season long programs.

As a proud member of the Lil’wat Nation, she has been involved in the snow industry for over 20 years. Starting as a competitive halfpipe rider turned snowboard and ski instructor, backcountry guide and Arc’teryx Athlete Ambassador. She has created multiple short films featuring young Indigenous skiers and mountain bikers which have won multiple awards around the world.
