Hadï Chelsie McCutcheon sozï’, she/ her, is Wet’suwet’en from the community Witset. A mother and outdoor enthusiast in snowboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing and backcountry treks. Chelsie lives with her family in Squamish, B.C., on the traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh.

Heather Sorenson

Heather is a nêhiyaw-iskwêw from the Michel First Nation with Norwegian roots. Raised in North Vancouver, she spent much of her time on the land with her family, participating in many outdoor activities. Her love for the outdoors and community has remained strong, which is what drew her to participate in IWO programming from its inception.

Katie Turriff

Katie (she/they) is from Belleville, Ontario, and has lived in Vancouver since September, 2020. Her Mohawk family is from the Francis family line of Akwesasne (bear clan). Her mixed-European ancestry is namely Scottish, German, and English.

Gabriel Savage is a public health professional with several years of experience in program management, project management, and in leading strategic initiatives within non-profit, public health, and hospital research environments. She brings a unique blend of analytical thinking and compassionate leadership to every transformation initiative she undertakes, while centering patient care, employee experience, and cultural safety.

Elsa Doxtdator-Jansson

Elsa Doxtdator-Jansson is Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Swedish, residing in Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), BC. She works as the Indigenous Student Engagement Advisor at UBC Sauder School of Business. In the winter, Elsa volunteers as a ski coach for Lillooet youth in Whistler, BC.

Aiyana Anderson-MacIssac is a Board Secretary and Program Lead (Off-Piste and Introduction to Backcountry Safety program) at Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO). She began her journey with the organization as a participant in IWO’s first-ever program, the Introduction to Backcountry Mentorship Program.
