Ready to get your CASI Level 1 certification?

The Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) trains and certifies snowboard instructors across Canada and internationally, and provides trained instructors to resorts worldwide. Join CASI and the IWO crew and get certified to teach snowboarding!

Requirements: The CASI Level 1 Instructor course is a 3-day (18-hour) program for individuals who are strong intermediate snowboarders. Participants must demonstrate safe, controlled riding on intermediate terrain and pass both riding and teaching evaluations to certify as an entry-level instructor.

Executive Director

Aiyana Anderson-MacIsaac is the Executive Director at Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO). She began her journey with the organization in 2020 as a participant in IWO’s first-ever program, the Introduction to Backcountry Mentorship Program. She then joined the Board of Directors as a Board Secretary in 2022 and served until April 2025. In 2024, Aiyana created and led the Off-Piste and Introduction to Backcountry Safety program as a Program Lead.
