BMO Marathon

Run with us

In partnership with

Indigenous Women Outdoors (IWO) is proud to have nine community members participating in the 2026 BMO Vancouver Marathon, one of Canada’s largest and most scenic running events.

Our team includes three runners in each race distance: the Marathon (42.2 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km), and 8KM race.

Held annually on the first Sunday of May, the event brings thousands of runners together from around the world to move through some of Vancouver’s most iconic landscapes, including city neighbourhoods, beaches, parks, and the Stanley Park Seawall, finishing in downtown Vancouver alongside cheering crowds and community celebrations. The race takes place on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations

Through this experience, IWO continues to create opportunities for Indigenous women and gender-diverse people to build confidence, prioritize wellness, and show up in outdoor and athletic spaces together. We’re proud to run in community and grateful for everyone supporting our team along the way.
